Thyme-flavoured apple and cheddar tartlets
Portions:
4Ingredients
- 12 puff pastry tarts, frozen
- 1 sour apple, peeled, cored and finely diced
- 120 g (4 oz) old cheddar (2 years), grated
- 3 ml (1/2 teaspoon) fresh thyme, chopped
- 125 ml (1/2 cup) 35% cream
- 1 egg
- Salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Place frozen tarts on a baking sheet. Set aside.
- In a bowl, combine apple, cheddar and thyme. In another bowl, whisk cream and egg, season with salt and pepper. Stir cream mixture into apple mixture.
- Spread the mixture over the tart shells. Bake for 30 minutes in the lower part of the oven, until the mixture has set and the pastry is golden-brown. Serve with salad.
Delicious tarts with a fresh taste. I can only recommend using an old cheddar.
