Thin apple tart

Ingredients

  • 250 g (1/2 lb) homemade or store-bought puff pastry
  • 2 yellow Delicious apples, peeled, trimmed and cut into thin strips
  • 25 g (2 tablespoons) vanilla sugar
  • 30 ml (2 tablespoons) quince or apple jelly, melted

Preparation

  1. Center the oven rack and preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. On a silicone mat, roll out the dough into a rectangle. Cut the 4 edges of the dough 1 cm (1/2") wide. Wet the edges of the pastry rectangle and reposition the strips on the edges of the rectangle.
  3. Place the apple slices on top and sprinkle with vanilla sugar. Bake for 25 minutes, or until risen and golden.
  4. Remove from oven and brush apples with melted jelly.
