Stuffed apple pie style in the air fryer

Ingredients

For apples 

  • 2 large Mcintosh apples
  • 30 ml (2 tablespoons) melted butter
  • 2.5 ml (½ tsp.) cinnamon
  • A pinch of nutmeg

For the trim

  • 125 ml (½ cup) quick-cooking rolled oats
  • 30 ml (2 tablespoons) brown sugar
  • 30 ml (2 tablespoons) butter, tempered
  • 30 ml (2 tablespoons) maple syrup
  • 2.5 ml (½ tsp.) cinnamon

Preparation

  1. Using an apple corer, remove the core from the apples and cut them in half lengthwise.
  2. Brush the insides of the apples with butter and sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg.
  3. In a bowl, mix all the ingredients in the filling section together.
  4. Place the filling in the center of each apple.
  5. Place a sheet of parchment in the basket of the air fryer and place the stuffed apples.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes at 190 ˚C (375 ˚F). If desired, serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a few mint leaves.
