Caramel apples

Ingredients

  • 4 red apples
  • 250 ml (1 cup) sugar
  • 60 ml (1/4 cup) water
  • 15 ml (1 tablespoon) butter
  • 80 ml (1/3 cup) chocolate cake decorations

Preparation

  1. Wash apples. Remove stalk and stem.
  2. Insert a wooden stick into each apple.
  3. In a saucepan, heat the sugar and water over medium heat until amber in color. Remove from heat and add butter.
  4. Using a large spoon, pour the caramel over the apples to coat. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. Dip the base of the apples in the chocolate decorations.
  6. Leave to set for 30 minutes at room temperature.
