Maple and granola fried apples

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp. maple sugar
  • 3 tbsp. almond granola (cereal mix)
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 6 large apples, peeled and sliced
  • 2 tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 pinch ground cayenne pepper
  • 250 ml (1 cup) maple syrup

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F).
  2. In a bowl, combine maple sugar and granola.
  3. Melt butter in an ovenproof skillet. Add apples and sauté over medium heat for 3 minutes. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cayenne pepper. Drizzle with maple syrup. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes. Cover with granola mixture. Stir with a few spoonfuls. Bake for 15 minutes.
  4. Remove from oven. Spoon into small bowls and serve immediately.
