32 min.Ingredients
- 2 apples
- 80 ml (1/3 cup) melted butter
- 80 ml (1/3 cup) maple sugar
- 2.5 ml (1/2 teaspoon) cinnamon
- 125 ml (1/2 cup) large-flake oats
- 45 ml (3 tablespoons) sliced almonds
- 80 ml (1/3 cup) creamy maple caramel
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Peel the apples, then cut them in half and remove the core. Place the apple halves on the work surface, cut side down, then slice without slicing completely, taking care to follow the curves of the apples.
- Place apple halves on a parchment-lined baking sheet, cut side down. Brush with half the melted butter, then sprinkle with half the maple sugar.
- Bake for 22 to 25 minutes, until the apple halves are nicely caramelized. Remove from oven and let cool for 8 to 10 minutes.
- In a bowl, combine the remaining melted butter with the remaining maple sugar, cinnamon, rolled oats and almonds. Using a small spoon, spread the mixture between the apple slices.
- Continue baking in the oven for 10 to 12 minutes.
- Just before serving, drizzle the creamy maple caramel over the apple halves.
