Sunrise
To crunch | Availability: late August to September |
Sunrise is one of the best early varieties* to buy at the start of the apple season.
Originating from the Pacific Agri-Food Research Centre in British Columbia's Okanagan Valley, this variety is a cross between McIntosh and Délicieuse Jaune with random seeding and was introduced to orchards in 1991.
*We call them early varieties because they have a very short shelf life.
