Apple Crisp

Ingredients

  • 7 apples
  • 1/3 cup (80 ml) brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) lemon juice
  • 1 cup (250 ml) oatmeal
  • 3/4 cup (180 ml) flour
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) butter
  • Walnuts, pecans and raisins to taste

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F).
  2. Cut apples into pieces, mix with lemon juice, maple syrup and brown sugar and place in a lightly greased baking dish.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine all the other ingredients except the butter.
  4. Cream the butter into the dry ingredients, then spread the mixture over the apples.
  5. Bake for 30 minutes and serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
