Apples with white chocolate and caramelized walnuts

5 minutes + 30 minutes refrigeration

Ingredients

4 to 5 Quebec red apples

300 g (²⁄³ lb) white chocolate chips* (chocolate chips)

375 ml (1 ½ cups) maple walnuts

* Be sure to use chocolate tablets rather than squares for this recipe.

Preparation

Wash and pat apples dry. Insert a wooden stick in the center of each apple.

Melt the white chocolate pastilles in a bain-marie.

Meanwhile, coarsely chop the walnuts. Place in a bowl.

Dip the apples in the chocolate, then place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Leave to set in the fridge for 20 minutes.

Melt the chocolate again in a bain-marie. Spoon remaining chocolate over apples.

Coat the base of the apples with walnuts.

Return the apples to the baking sheet. Leave to set in the fridge for 30 minutes.
