Grilled apple and maple brioche on the BBQ

- Vegetable oil (for barbecue grill)
- 3 large apples, grated
- 110 g (4 oz) chopped walnuts
- 5 tbsp. maple sugar
- 60 ml (1/4 cup) sweet cider
- 4 large cinnamon buns
- 110 g (4 oz) melted butter
- 250 ml (1 cup) caramel sauce
- A few mint leaves
Preparation
- Preheat grill to medium. Lightly oil the grill.
- In a bowl, combine grated apples, walnuts, 3 tbsp. maple sugar and cider. Cover and set aside.
- Place buns on hot barbecue grill. Cook for about 3 minutes on each side.
- Using tongs, transfer toasted buns to plates. Drizzle with melted butter. Sprinkle with remaining maple sugar.
- Garnish plates with grated apple mixture. Drizzle with caramel sauce. Serve immediately with mint leaves.
